Happy Independence Day
Today we remember our forefathers, the courageous men who fought not just for themselves, but for their posterity. They stood against tyranny, rooted in a Protestant vision of liberty under God. America has always been a Christian nation, and it's time we turned back to the God of our salvation. Consider this excerpt:
“The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America, When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”
On Christian Nationalism and Baptists
This piece by Brandon Corley is one of the strongest recent contributions to the Christian Nationalism conversation. I’m encouraged to see young men thinking clearly and writing boldly. Baptists need not fear the label or its principles just because of our historic commitment to religious liberty. I’m planning to have Brandon on Full Proof Theology soon to unpack this more:
